2026 Annual Scholar FundraiserGold Tournament

LDAA’s Beginnings: It all began in 1984 when a small group of former students who attended either the Loudoun Training and/or Douglass High School decided to get together for dinner. While socializing, members from the Class of 1953 came together with an idea: to start an alumni association aimed at providing scholarships and grants to deserving students and financial assistance to charitable organizations in Loudoun County. And as a result of the 1984 discussion, the Loudoun Douglass High School Alumni Association (LDAA) was established in 1985.

The LDAA focuses its efforts on enhancing the lives of young adults whose parents, grandparents, or other family members attended either school by providing opportunities for further education. Specifically, our mission is to provide financial aid scholarships to young people who desire to pursue education beyond high school at a trade school, college, or university.

The LDAA has provided over $500,000 in scholarships since 1985, which enhanced the income-earning potential and enriched the lives of many through education.

To celebrate Black History Month, Historic Douglass High School alumni look back on the creation and restoration of the campus and what it means to them. The Douglass High School Commemorative Committee and Loudoun County Public Schools renovated the building, which was the only African American high school in Loudoun County until the end of segregation in 1968.
